Summer Pearl is a singer-songwriter with a fairly genre-fluid approach, whose music is a smooth mixture of soul, pop, hip-hop, and jazz. There is also a strand of reggae that is especially prominent in her early recordings, plus an occasional thread of spoken word poetry weaving through her work. She took a step forward in her overall sound and delivery on her 2025 EP, The Interlude, accompanied by bolder choices in her songwriting and arrangements. The jazzy bits particularly stand out in the way they are integrated into the hip-hop meets soul nature of her songs. She is a remarkable vocalist with a commanding presence as she confidently moves between different modes, singing and rapping, or treading that line in-between now and then.
Summer Pearl weaves jazzy motifs through her hip-hop groove on "The Creator", off of the EP she released earlier this year (The Interlude -- check it out). She's especially captivating on this track, our #SongoftheDay.
