NBA Summer League is where coaches make young players work on specific skills under game conditions without regard to how doing so might affect the outcome. There are coaches and GMs from the parent league watching.
It is also a track meet. The games are a lot of fun to watch. Congratulations, Charlotte!

102-83, Portland over Houston, final. James Bouknight hit 6 of 8 3-point shots and ended the game with 25 points and a +/- of 22.
The Hansen-Love connection looks excellent.
The end of the 3rd [Edit: 2nd, lol. I want it to end, I think.] was looking good up until the very end, which included an awkward foul.
46-40 Portland over Houston ("8 missed foul shots for the Rockets").
After the 13-13 tie, Portland ended the quarter on an 8-1 run. It got physical at the end of the 1st. Tackling nearly broke out, lol.
There is not a tremendous amount of team play in this game between the Rockets and Trail Blazers. Once the first shot of a set happens, it's on, baby.
"I can hit that 3! No I can't."
"I can make this acrobatic shot under the basket with 3 huge guys towering over me! No I can't."
"I can get out on this fast break and slam the ball through the hoop with defenders catching up to me! No I can't."
Tied at 13 with 1:55 to go in the 1st.
One of Memphis' players - Mashack - hurt an ankle and was limping. Called a time out. Looking at it. Went to commercial. Came back. He's jumping up and down on the baseline.
Waiting for the Trail Blazers game. Memphis is up a point, shooting FTs.
