I grew up in what others called a “crafting family”. Point #2: I have always had multiple vivid dreams each night. Point #3: I haven’t done much but read for the last year.

Lately, many of my dreams have turned terrifying. Sometimes I awake and am unwilling to go back to sleep. Last week, when dreams turned especially grim, I got out a bookbinding project that has laid dormant for years. I also went back to playing music for 20-30 minutes a day.

About that same time, my dreams went from scary to just normal weird. I was an engineer and so don’t feel I have a good enough metric to say these two things are related, but I would like them to be.

So I am resorting to the lazy-man’s approach: I am sharing a thing, hoping to hear thoughts one way or another.

Also: last night I watched a vid about #suminagashi. Anyone have tips to share?

The #linocut shows a schematic of the whimsically named process “bubbling” surrounded by soap bubbles printed on paper which I marbled with #suminagashi inks. ⁠

As someone who writes #haiku and #tanka on a regular basis, it’s no wonder that I oftentimes dive into other aspects of Japanese culture. This method of marbling paper is called #suminagashi. It might get incorporated in a future #poetry project.
