Dazu habe ich einen interessanten Kommentar gefunden: "§ 8 TDDDG verbietet das Bereitstellen von #Telekommunikationsanlagen, die als Alltagsgegenstand getarnt und zum unbemerkten Aufnehmen bestimmt sind. § 27 TDDDG macht das #strafbar – bis zu zwei Jahre. Mein noch vor #Suckerberg angelegter #Instagram-Account, in den ich zeitweilig sehr viel Herzblut gesteckt habe, ist jetzt so endgültig gelöscht, dass ich ihn nicht wiederbeleben kann. Das fühlt sich trotz leichter Trauer nach großer #Befreiung an!
Dass niemand von dort mit ins #Fediverse kommen wollte, lässt mich indes ein klein bisschen ratlos zurück. An dieser Trägheit der Masse haben wir noch viel zu rütteln.

Now that would be some news! Suckerberg could be able to read your messages, yes: also the encrypted ones.

Many people know how I think about Suckerberg, and that I have said for years that he can probably read your mesages. The client app you have to run on your phone is closed source, so you have no idea what it really does. What guarantees you that your encryption keys aren't uploaded to Meta?

Imagine what it would mean if Suckerberg (and thus the US government) can indeed read all that communication! Like the British during WW2 once they had cracked the German Enigma-code...

Have you ever talked about an abortion via WhatsApp? Or about hiring illegal immigrants for some work? Have you ever said you're homosexual and/or trans?

If you want to be sure your communication is secure, you have to be able to trust the software you use. CLOSED SOURCE SOFTWARE CAN NOT BE TRUSTED! If you're not allowed to see what it does, you must assume it does things you don't want it to do. Don't take any chances, switch to a safe alternative!

Signal is better than WhatsApp, but if you really want to be in control, you start using Matrix!

Meta AI zorgt voor onrust op WhatsApp, gebruikers bezorgd dat app meeleest

Mjah, dit vind ik een naïeve gedachte. We weten al jaren dat #Suckerberg met een stalen gezicht liegt, en gewoon doet wat hem het beste uitkomt:

"Meta AI kan alleen berichten lezen waarin de chatbot wordt getagd, ook in bestaande gesprekken met vrienden en familie. Dat benadrukt Meta zelf als je Meta AI voor het eerst opent. Dave Maasland, directeur van cybersecuritybedrijf ESET Nederland, denkt dat we daar wel op kunnen vertrouwen. "Als het zwart op wit in de voorwaarden staat, mag je er als gebruiker van uitgaan dat het is zoals ze zeggen", zegt hij. "Anders hebben ze een groot aansprakelijkheidsprobleem."

Verderop is hij al een stuk realistischer:

"Als je het niet vertrouwt, moet je het niet gebruiken", zegt Maasland. "Dan kun je bijvoorbeeld uitwijken naar Signal."

En wederom helaas alleen een melding over #Signal en verder niets.
