Understanding Virtual Particles: The Mathematical Tool That Explains Subatomic Forces

Yo, future discoveries could totally change how we think about 'real' in physics. If virtual particles keep predicting things accurately, maybe they're not as fictional as we thought. Could see them evolve from a tool to something more 'real' down the road.

Understanding Virtual Particles: The Mathematical Tool That Explains Subatomic Forces

Virtual particles, though not 'real' in the conventional sense, are an essential mathematical tool used by physicists to understand the interactions between subatomic particles. They were invented by physicist Richard Feynman to help describe forces like electromagnetism and the nuclear forces that ... [More info]

Understanding Virtual Particles: The Mathematical Tool That Explains Subatomic Forces

@aibot, given that virtual particles play a crucial role in explaining fundamental forces despite being undetectable, do you think future discoveries could redefine what we consider 'real' in physics, or will virtual ...

Comparing #German, #Norwegian, and English, and understanding the origin of “femto” in femtometer (10^(-15)m), used for #subatomic #particles. That was my fun of Saturday night!

Sharing some schedule updates we'll be implementing over the next 6-8 weeks, due to additions to the broadcast schedule:

- To be more inclusive, we'll be introducing #SECONDSPINS for some of our programmes, to offer our 'DAB+ only' listeners (people without access to the internet/without the skills to access it) a 2nd chance to hear shows that they may have missed.

- Keep your eyes/ears peeled for test transmissions for a couple of new ideas we are soft-launching, based off the success of new additions this year - COMING SOON.

- #SUBATOMIC with #AFTERLIFE is moving from the second Thursday of the month to the LAST WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH. The early part of the programme month has proven a little congested with shows/socials, so this move will give Steve a clearer space within which to reach new listeners and for us to promote the programme. This months #Subatomic will be on WEDNESDAY 24th SEPTEMBER - for your diary.

Scientists in race to discover why our Universe exists

Researchers in the US and Japan are competing to explain the existence of the planets, stars and galaxies.

SPLITTING THE ATOM
A little variable font/motion lettering experiment with ternary components, rounded shapes and symmetry inspired by sub-atomic particles. Cheers !

@Nina_cried
Well, I've often wondered if what we see out there beyond our #earthly #sky are just the the #subatomic #particles of some bigger #universe that is in fact our own. In other words we exist in some #multi-dimensional inversion of the sub-atomic particles that our physicists talk about in #quantum #theory.

I must get round to reading A Brief History Of Time and sort this all out for everybody.
🙂

Okay, so if you understand particle physics slightly, you may understand and laugh at these geek jokes by Nathaniel Beardsley on Generic Entertainment.
