I'm looking for some feedback from anyone in the #ActuallyAutistic community who is studying (tertiary).
This year I returned to university and after learning a few things about my AuADHD self I modified some of my study habits. I have been getting much better results this time. This will be my third degree, so I am reasonably confident with the process.
One thing that helped was to have a separate notebook for each subject with important details on the front cover and information about the lectures, staff, rooms, times, locations, assignments and weekly topics on the first two pages. This way when my inattentive (ADHD) side kicks in, I still have all the important information in one place. Yes, I'm old school and still need to write things down physically, not rely on a laptop or other device.
I recently discovered you can design and print things like notebooks through Amazon Kindle. I plan to design a lecture notebook where the first two pages are pre-printed with spaces for this important information. It will be much more expensive than buying cheap notebooks from Officeworks, but, it might help me in that busy first week. I'm also thinking about having an extra wide left-hand margin on the regular pages.
Has anyone come across a product like this? Have you used a product like this, if so, was it useful (worth the cost)? Would you find a product like this helpful at all? Are there any other modifications that would be helpful in a notebook?
Thanks for your feedback
