The bass on Chronostasis was a 5-string G&L L-2500, tuned to A# standard.

Thing is the heaviest but also the best sounding bass I've ever played. Thing weighs like two guitars probably...

I was going for the Fu Manchu bass tone. I know that Brad Davis plays a P-style G&L, but I think the L-2500 can get quite close on the neck pickup.

Tapered bass strings are a cheat code for tone, especially on the 5th string.

My favorite guitar on Chronostasis is my MIM Tele Deluxe 72. Same tunings, but since it's not a baritone scale, strung with thicker 12-56s.

This guitar has got the snappy attack that the 277 with Hemis lacks. Works much better for fuzz, more controllable.

Mojotone WRHB pickups. Can't say how authentic these sound compared to vintage WRHBs, but they definitely have a lot more sparkle than the stock HBs.

Custom wiring. Coil tap, phase switch, bass cut, and a stacked pot for balance like in a jazz bass instead of separate volume pots.

The workhorse guitar for Chronostasis was a PRS SE 277 baritone. Tuned to drop A# for most stuff.

This thing is beautiful. I put a pair of Lace Hemi Humbuckers in it. These are the lower output version of the Nitro Hemi laces, which are quite popular. I was looking specifically for vintage voicing and these were difficult to find. The neck PU is the special one I think, crazy glassy tone on this.

I also updated the wiring to have a 5-way rotary switch, which gives me a couple unique voices, such as parallel neck coils.
