The Bilker Bunker is a former World War II air-raid shelter turned into a cultural institution. Built in 1942, the structure was repurposed in 2016 as a non-profit space for contemporary art, fashion, and music. The large mural on the facade, titled "Time Travelers" (Zeitreisende), was created in 1995 to symbolize the coexistence of different cultures. "The struggle to design the bunker lasted more than 10 years. An initial attempt in 1983 was blocked by the city. With the support of numerous initiatives and residents in the neighborhood, the mural was finally completed in three months in 1995. Odeith was born in 1976, in Damaia (Portugal). He held a spray can for the first time in the mid 1980’s. In the 90’s, when graffiti began its dissemination throughout Portugal and began to leave its Portuguese birthplace, Carcavelos, Odeith had his first contact with this movement. His first experiences were sketching on street walls and train tracks.
