The entrance to the former Royal College of Science and Technology on George Street in Glasgow. While the college was established in 1887, this Italianate building, designed by David Barclay, was only built in 1903.

I love this mural on a Strathclyde University building on George Street which highlights, amongst other things, the role the university, and Glasgow as a whole, plays in the international space industry. With the Space-Comm Expo Scotland opening in the city today, it's also worth highlighting that more satellites are built in Glasgow than anywhere else outside of California.

Kate Robinson Sculpture

Two of the pavement etchings by Kate Robinson outside of the Ramshorn in the Merchant city in Glasgow. The skeleton not only refers to Glasgow's links to slavery, but also to the nearby cemetery, and the reserection men who stole bodies from it to sell for anatomical research.

A Monument to Maternity by George Wyllie on the the site of the former Rottenrow Maternity Hospital in Glasgow. It was originally created for Mayfest in 1996, and was permanently installed at its current site in 2004. Born in Shettleston in 1921, Wyllie was a self-taught artist and pioneering social sculptor. He created a number of Glasgow's quirkiest and best-loved public sculptures.
