A ★★★★ review of Strange Harvest (2024)

Su naturaleza de falso focumental quizá la hace morder un poco más de lo que puede tragar y la cosa nunca llega a explotar tanto como me gustaría… Pero la premisa del rollo true crime derivando poco a poco en potencial horror cósmico out of fucking nowhere, remezclado con el tomarse licencias que un documental real (idealmente) nunca haría a la hora de mostrar la carnaza y un reparto con interpretaciones sólidas, consiguen una atmósfera creciente de mal rollo insalubre muy apañada.

So final verdict: it's okay. Strange Harvest is okay. It's got a decent creep factor, there's a solid true crime documentary feel to it, and the climax reaches a good level of suspense. It's kind of like a cosmic horror version of the Poughkeepsie Tapes.

The acting isn't great; in places it's downright bad. There are some questionable production choices, and the special effects aren't the best. It uses some Photoshoped images that are badly done as well.

But overall, I don't feel like I wasted the last hour and a half. Creepy and interesting on its own way. A solid B effort.

I am a big fan of true crime documentaries and I know that they range from the extraordinary to the mundanely crappy So when I saw this new offering on Hulu and knowing nothing about it except that it involved a search for a serial killer and I tuned in and to my surprise it was a fictional true crime documentary I was astounded.  This film did everything right Using unknown actors as interview subjects and using great filmic techniques to recreate footage, this film really feels like a well done true crime documentary- there are no winks to the
