Hey Canadians on Mastodon, what hashtag are we using for this fucked up weather weekend? #NuclearWinter? #FuckItsCold? #LongerShortWeather?
It’s currently -24°, feels like -30°. Tomorrow’s high is -20° and then we get 20cm snow the next day.
Another question: does an extreme cold warning justify #StormChips? It’s not a STORM so to say, but we’re in a Yellow warning for the cold so I feel like it’s a good excuse for chips.
The fact that my previous post about #StormChips is getting a little traction again is hilarious because I KNOW why. Because I got two bags of chips in preparation for this freezing rain we’re going to get.
Make sure you all have charged your phones and batteries. Just in case.
Storm chips.
As our brethren in #Halifax have taught us, having chips on hand is an important thing when you're couch-bound under a blanket. We're prepared.

This is the kind of news life should let us be excited about - a new flavour of Covered Bridge potato chips.

Today I’d like to talk about the most #Canadian thing ever that nobody knows about: #StormChips.
Many may say it is just a maritimes thing, but with 40cm of snow due in the next 24 hours, my shift picking groceries has involved every order having at least one bag of chips.
It’s very different to picking for the Super Bowl. That was almost entirely nacho chips. Today it is almost entirely ketchup, dill pickle, barbecue and salt and vinegar, aka the four flavours of the OG storm chips brand.
Are storm chips still a thing?
I think #stormChips should be mandatory for what we're facing in the next 24hrs.
