Memphis, Tennessee - According to Memphis authorities, 30-year-old Isaiah Bethany, an employee of Memphis Animal Services, is facing animal cruelty charges after officials found "terrible" conditions and numerous neglected dogs and puppies at his South Memphis home.Last Friday, investigators went to Bethany's East Gage home to serve a narcotics search warrant for another resident at the house. While there, they discovered horrific conditions, including nine puppies in a pen filled with feces, multiple chained dogs outside, and several dogs inside and outside the residence without access to food or water.
The Puppy Protection Act will drastically improve the quality of life of dogs in USDA-licensed breeding facilities by requiring stronger standards of care including increased enclosure sizes, solid flooring, exercise, feeding twice per day, socialization, increased veterinary care, and protection from extreme temperatures.

Bronx, New York - A Bronx man is accused of hurling his family cat, Shadow, from a 15-story apartment window in a fit of rage. According to prosecutors, 32-year-old Miguel Perez threw Shadow out the window of his apartment at NYCHA’s Mitchel Houses in Mott Haven after the little cat scratched him. Shadow died when he hit the pavement below.
