New York politicians raise rainbow flag at Stonewall National Monument

New York politicians defiantly raised a rainbow flag at the Stonewall National Monument amid a boisterous, cheering crowd. The flag raising Thursday rebuked the Trump administration for removing the well-known symbol of pride from the LGBTQ+ landmark. Until a few days ago, the flag had flown for several years on a flagpole in the tiny park at the heart of the National Park Service-run site. The park is across the street from the Stonewall Inn, the gay bar where a 1969 police raid sparked an uprising and helped catalyze the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement.

Yes, it is the Friday after American Thanksgiving. But it is also my first weekday in a Georgia bar. I am just south of Atlanta.
I can't sit at the bar because all the bar stools are occupied.
It looks like the Log Cabin is having a Stonewall Riot reunion at the bar.

Johson and Ms. Sylvia Rivera. without their continued leadership after the #StonewallRiots, #nyc wouldn’t have today a hospital & clinics system that offers health care to all, regardless of ability to pay.
