Folks, I'd be VERY careful listening to ANY analysis of the situation in Russia right now. Especially if it's coming from a "Russian Expert" who was yesterday an expert in deep sea rescue who was the week before an expert in vaccines who was the week before that an expert in voter fraud, etc.
Situations like this are very, very fluid.

There are reports of mutiny by certain mercenary units, to wit the Wagner Group, and reports of armed incidents taking place. Whether or not any of this is true and whether or not this is some actual attempt to overthrow the current Russian government or just the usual method of Russian contract negotiation, I couldn't say.
