This is an old picture from last year that I never posted because I wasn’t happy with the edit. And because I’m running out of pictures, I took the time to re-edit it yesterday because it’s actually a special picture for me! It’s the only place where I’ve seen these birds and here it was sitting relatively close to me🙂

🇺🇸: The Stonechat (Saxicola rubicola) is a small songbird from the genus Saxicola and the family Muscicapidae. It is about twelve centimetres long and weighs ten to 13 grams. It lives in open areas with isolated bushes, for example on raised moors and heaths. It feeds on insects, spiders and worms, which are usually caught on the ground.

🇩🇪: Das Schwarzkehlchen (Saxicola rubicola) ist ein kleiner Singvogel aus der Gattung der Wiesenschmätzer (Saxicola) und der Familie der Fliegenschnäpper (Muscicapidae). Es ist etwa zwölf Zentimeter lang und wiegt zehn bis 13 Gramm. Es lebt auf offenen Flächen mit einzelnen Büschen, zum Beispiel auf Hochmooren und Heiden. Es ernährt sich von Insekten, Spinnen und Würmern, die meist auf dem Boden gefangen werden.
