The bad thing about #iPhone #StolenDeviceProtection for #Uber drivers? I drive the same areas daily. These happen to be in Disney World - a huge place for stolen devices. BUT iPhone lists many hotels/resorts/parks here as "familiar places" in my settings.
Thus anyone stealing my phone here at those locations are exempt from Stolen Device Protection - and can change my pw with impunity. 😳
Not good.

If you go to settings and the Face ID settings are missing, check your screen time restrictions.
When Face ID is set to Don't Allow, the Face ID setting no longer shows in the settings list.
this isn’t an impossible scenario: someone gets the #passcode to your #iPhone by looking over your shoulder while you put it in and then steal the #phone!…
to prevent the thief from getting immediate access to your data, apps, and services, you’re highly recommended to enable #stolendeviceprotection once your phone is updated to the new #iOS 17.3 #iOS173, by going to Settings → Face ID & Passcode.

Open question: If I enable #iOS’s new #StolenDeviceProtection feature and leave #SignificantLocations disabled, does that mean my #iPhone will not be able to detect when I’m in a “familiar” location?
