Odd to include a real story in a hashtag game, but in 1970, when my father was picking up the garbage from Steve Miller’s house in #StinsonBeach, he and a coworker had to sit on top of the truck for half an hour after Miller’s loose dogs came after them. Later that day, my father’s personal assistant (my mother) called Miller’s personal assistant and told her that their garbage would have to be set out on the street for the remainder of his tenancy. #SpaceCowboy my ass.

@shojiwax I was raised in #StinsonBeach, California, a few hundred yards from the #SanAndreasFault. Except for a few years on the Hill, our home was in a flood zone and a tsunami hazard zone. My primary plan seems to be to die before things get really bad—I’m over 70, so sea level rise won’t affect our home in Fremont until I’m long gone. I sold the family property in Stinson, so our daughters won’t have to worry about dealing with #SeaLevelRise and oceanfront property in their old age. I started a Disaster Prep shopping list on Amazon, but only buy things for short term disruptions—if the electric grid goes down for more than a few months, I’ll die along with most of the other diabetics. The crossbows and whatnot are fun to think about, of course.

We last hiked it in June 2010...it's been a minute 😜

The setting sun reflected really nicely in the stream running across the beach as this friendly curlew posed in silhouette.
