Found this basket / lattice stinkhorn in our local park.

Lizard's claw lantern (stinkhorn), Lysurus mokusin, eggs of which are used in Traditional Chinese Food Therapy to treat ulcers and top salads. #sciart #lysurus #fungus #stinkhorn #phallaceae

This stinkhorn was covered in flies when I first saw it, a couple have returned here. This foul smelling toadstool attracts flies to spread its spores.

I found a wonderful phallus (that is the species name dont @ me) next to my pumpkins. That means there's good dirt, right?

Stinkhorn

Stinkhorn was a Seattle jazz group featuring Brian Heaney (guitar), John Morris (bass), Michael Monhart (saxophones), and Howard Ouchi in about 1996. They released two CDs, one self-titled (1997) and one called Tunguska (2001) as well as a collection of demos and other miscellany, Altered Takes. Around 2002, the band split up, with the members going on to other projects.
