16 years ago today.
A child born asleep.
Never to see the sunshine of the earth or of his mother.
I mourn for what may have been, but find consolation in what eventuated from the event. Lifelong friends made, life changes and a new found ability to find joy in the mundane.
I wish Nikolas was around for his 16th birthday, as much as I wish he was around for his 1st.
Life has a way of tossing curve balls at us, we just find a way to hit them back, bunt them into the infield or taking the strike and having another go.
Sending love to all those that have lost people on this day that means so much to me.
