Auf ziemlich genau halber Höhe an der #StJakobskirche in #Brünn (Brno) hängt diese #Drolerie. Um das unanständige Männchen, “Neslušný mužícek”, ranken sich Legenden rund um einen Streit zweier Kirchen, aber tatsächlich sind solche nackten Popos gar nicht so selten.

Halfway up the Church of St James in #Brno is this #drollery called "The Indecent Man". There are legends involving two rival churches around it, but in fact, such #grotesque adornments weren't uncommon.

Zum #Doorsday noch ein paar Löwen an der #Liebfrauenkirche in #Bremen. Nach dem Dom ist sie die zweitälteste Kirche der Stadt. Sie hat wunderschöne Buntglasfenster, aber wir sind nicht reingegangen. 😭

For #Doorsday, here are a couple of lions adorning the entrance of Kirche Unser Lieben Frauen (Church of Our Lady) in Bremen. It's the second oldest #church in the city after the cathedral. It boasts stunning stained-glass windows, but we didn't go inside. 😭

Some #art and sophistication for today's #TongueOutTuesday and #Toothday, if you will. 🧐 These #sculptures adorn the #Zwinger Palace in #Dresden. There are loads of #statues and sculptures here, each uniquely expressive, so you'll be seeing more of them at some point. 😅
Of course, most have been restored, but around 150 of the 500 sculptures on the façades and roofs of the palatial complex are originals, making them 300 years old (though not these gentlemen).

This is a side entrance to the beautiful #ÉgliseDesDominicains. It’s the second largest and second most important #church in Colmar, built between 1289 and 1346. We didn’t go inside to see the famous religious painting "Madonna of the Rose Bower" (which we weren’t aware of at the time), because kiddo had just tripped and taken a nasty tumble, bloodying their knees and screaming the whole city down. 🫣 A memorable first day of our summer holiday last year 😅
