I Love Steam Locomotives; and some of the best examples of the narrow-gauge, gear-driven design are just a short drive from our home in Monterey Bay, at Roaring Camp Railroads.

This Valentine's Day, Engine #2 was in operation, which was my first ride with it.

I have been in the Dixiana Shay several times now. The Heisler has a very different personality and it was treat to compare the two.
