About 20 years ago I was convinced enough that our societal trend of ignoring scientific and medical advice en mass (read: #JennyMcArthy /#AndrewWakefield / #climateCrisis) would inevitably lead to the resurgence of preventable disease, such as #TB.

Where as in TBP I the orator can't seem to shake his "sentimental" cough, TBP II finds him perishing in a Tuberculosis wing of a hospital, as friends and family all come to visit unmasked.

This is a shoutout to anyone who has said #no to joining a group or gathering over the holidays due to the fact that we are in the midst of an incredibly destructive #pandemic, still lead by our old friend #covid19.

Your friends, family, and co-workers might not get it, but we do.

You are doing the right thing. You are doing the sensible thing. You are reducing harm. You are looking out for your community. You are doing what you have to. You are awesome.

Speaking of the "new normal", at least two #NewBrunswick'ers die each and every week from completely preventable acute #covid19. Hundreds more will develop heart problems, #mecfs, or any of over 200 other wonderful, potentially life-long new companions!

Two strains dominate, more are around. More people dying. More people becoming #disabled. More people with damaged blood vessels, brains, hearts... More people slipping suddenly into dementia. More young "healthy" people unable to explain why they always seem to be sick these days.

What they should say: Avoid all #covid at all costs.
