Driving back from Connecticut just now I took a caffeine pill, as I've never acquired a taste for coffee.

I didn't know this trick back in the day, when I used to drive back and forth to Boston for the weekend when I was courting my current partner. And I remember one time I fell asleep while driving. 😬 Fortunately I never had an accident.
