"Since its launch, the site has received over 2.4 million hits and helped raise almost $20m for affected Minnesotans, she said.

"The site has also been used to coordinate flights – through donated frequent flyer miles – for people returning to Minneapolis after being released from detention in Texas. (Fairbanks lives about 40 minutes from Dilley detention center, where five-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was transported with his father from Minneapolis.)"

She’s raised almost $20m to help Minnesota – she thinks you can do it too

Ashley Fairbanks launched Stand with Minnesota as ICE raids rocked her home town – now donations are pouring in, and families’ rent is being paid

The Guardian

Hey friends.

This request comes to you via my sister, who lives in South Minneapolis. She and others in the Bancroft neighborhood are trying to raise funds to help their neighbors who have been unable to leave their homes to work for the past several weeks to meet their rent payments for February, which are now past due.

The need is dire, and the solution is temporary. But anything you can do to help gives folks there a much-needed reprieve, and helps keep a beautiful, diverse community intact. A community that I love, and one that deserves to be whole.

More from my sister:

“I have been working with friends and neighbors who have been fielding requests for rental assistance from immigrant families who cannot safely leave their homes to go to work right now. As rent has been coming due, we have been receiving about 15 requests per day, with the average amount needed per household at around $1,500. Up until a few days ago, we were able to meet requests as they came in, through the generosity of our neighbors and their contacts. The current demand has now exceeded the capacity of our immediate networks, and we need to raise about $30,000 to meet the requests that we know about today.

We have entered damage control mode. My neighbors are spending their lunch breaks and evenings today calling landlords on behalf of these households to ask for extensions on their rent payments.”

Thanks for anything you can do.

Es wäre so lustig...allerdings würde der Möchtegern-Präsident als Reaktion wahrscheinlich die Stadt dem Erdboden gleichmachen.
