Here's the latest news on the decay of #mediafreedom in #HongKong: After #StandNews that has been closed down for breaches of the #NationalSecurityLaw has won no less than five awards and four merits, the #HumanRights Press Awards got axed and eight members of the Foreign Correspondents Club's committee have quit.

This is what #Beijing's rule is doing to media freedom and #civicrghts. It's worse than cancer, it's pure poison.

In #HongKong, 19 year-old pro-#democracy and #civicrights activist #TonyChung has been sentenced to four months in jail for unlawful assembly and for insulting #China's national flag.

Under the #RuleOfLaw, a new law cannot be used retrospectively - but who cares about such details in an authoritarian state, right?

Frankly I'd wipe my arse with that bloody flag as it represents a highly oppressive authoritarian system and the #CCP's rule, NOT the people of China.

Turns out #AiWeiwei, #China's best-known #dissident artist, has produced a documentary on the #resistance of #HongKong's citizens against Beijing's puppet #CarrieLam, her nonsensical attempt to get an extradition law put in place and how #China decided to call all protests quits by imposing its insane #NationalSecurityLaw that has eliminated all #liberties and #civicrights in Hong Kong.
