Morning Twters!

Another lovely weekend with my friends, The Cardiff Four! We visited the Food Festival in St Fagan's, which was amazing. Ate far too much delicious food both there and at home on Sunday, and I'm rested and relaxed. Even the ear infection seems to have abated, finally. No pain relief needed since last night.

All in all, a thoroughly wonderful time.

Hope you're all having a smashing start to your week. 😘

I have been looking through some old photos and came across something suitable for #fensterfreitag.

This is the view through a window in a seventeenth century chapel, which has been relocated to #StFagans living history museum near Cardiff.

Sir LEONARD TWISTON DAVIES (d.1953), patron of the arts and of folk life studies, was born #OnThisDay 1894.
'His service and generosity to both the National Library and National Museum of #Wales were very remarkable. He was treasurer of the National Library of Wales and its vice-president when he died. He was president of the National Museum and the main instigator in establishing the department of Rural Life (1936) which led to the creation of the National Folk Museum (1947) (now Museum of Welsh Life) at #StFagans. He made very many gifts to the Library and the Museum; he also worked hard and successfully to raise the levels of salaries in both establishments.' -- Iorwerth Cyfeiliog Peate

Finally saw the mari lwyd this weekend although sadly from quite far back. And my daughter gave the folk dancing a go. Wish I had volunteered, too, now.

Went to #stFagans today - a really great museum and entirely free. Welsh Labour government. Thank you.

Sain Ffagan is an open-air museum that saves and re-erects historic buildings from all over #Wales - in this #s4c episode (turn on the English subtitles) you can see not only the quarryman's cottage and the Vulcan Hotel being put back together stone by stone, but a love note to the sweet shop, one of the few places in Wales you can buy, ahem, Jazz Balls.

@LesleyPhillipsArt I used to work near there so went in a few times (it wasn't very nice). It'll be interesting to see what it's like when they've rebuilt it at #StFagans museum.
