Yesterday evening was sunny and warm, so of course I went for a flower walk in the local woods and a nearby park. This is it – summer is almost here. Everything is so verdant. The lovely shade of green of late spring. Almost 18 hours of daylight.

There were a lot of common dog-violets around, and I'm quite pleased with this photo of one of them.

With spring getting into gear, wildflowers have finally begun to pop up in Helsinki. I spotted these growing between cobblestones yesterday. I think they are thale cresses. Not the flashiest flower by any means – but kinda pretty and elegant in its simplicity.
