Surely there's an easier way?

DebacleFor simple use cases, I don't see much difference between markdown and #orgmode. The syntaxes differ slightly, both are ugly, IMHO 🙂
However, orgmode allows me to use e.g. #spreadsheet functions, or dynamically created #dot/#graphviz images, which happens once in a while.
Also, I use org-agenda and org-contacts, and sometimes I even link from orgmode files directly into my emails (#mu4e).
Nothing wrong with markdown, but I *always* choose orgmode, "just in case".

I do my exams via forms, but not every student registered in the class takes the exam. On one sheet, I have the complete student list, along with attendance. On another sheet, I have the test results. I need to calculate grades as a combination of attendance and final exam results.
