Loved the archive footage on #ITV4 Tour De France coverage for Stage 2. Gary Imlach introducing Gary Imlach from the Channel 4 days when I wasn’t a fan of him (I am now).
The footage was of the TDF promo wagon that rolls through an hour ahead of the race dishing out the sponsors merchandise. Motorised profiteroles, cars shaped like shoes…giant mascots laying out on the roofs of vehicles that don’t look big enough.

Only Ned Boulting would read from Les Misérables about an important journey in it which is said to represent an eternal existential problem and follows a route which is (apparently) the reverse of today’s Stage 2.
I’m going to miss Ned Boulting and the ITV Cycling Team after this year’s Tour De France is over.
