And here it is advertised in the late 60s. Looks sketchy, but these were fine lenses made by Kenko. They also were sold under Kenko and Soligor branding, probably more.

In recent years, buying new filters i’ve mostly stuck to Tamron, Fujifilm, B+W (citylight) and Hoya.

You'd think that adding an adapter and a teleconverter to a vintage M42 ("universal thread mount", as found on #Pentax, #Yashica, #Fujica etc) would make for a combo that is too heavy and too long for normal use. It really depends on the lens you combine it with.

Here it is combined with a #Spiratone #reflex #Mirror #Lens, 300mm f5.6. The whole thing is smaller than my #Fujifilm 50-230, and about the same weight but almost twice the reach.

Taken with the #Spiratone Sharpshooter 400mm preset aperture lens. The photograph is not cropped or post-processed. It was taken from the peak of our rooftop to get an unobstructed view of the sky.

It features a Spiratone X2 T-mount teleconverter and a JCPenney Auto 2x K-mount #Teleconverter for a total focal length of 1600mm which is roughly equivalent to 2400mm in 35mm.

The #camera was in wireless mode with mirror lock-up enabled to minimize vibration. As the #moon rose in the sky, I'd adjust the forward #tripod leg rather than trying to adjust the ball head.
