The 83-year-old former Beatle explained that the album will have 14 tracks, be titled “The Boys Of Dungeon Lane,” and take listeners on a journey through memory and will include his early adventures with George Harrison and John Lennon, before the Beatles’ fame. “The Boys of Dungeon Lane” is his most introspective album to date and takes the listener back to the origins, according to McCartney’s website.
Dungeon Lane is a street near his childhood home in the Speke suburb of Liverpool. It is mentioned in the new single “Days We Left Behind,” described as a “song of memories.” The album will also contain new love songs and memories of life before the Beatles.
Reflections on the Past
“I often ask myself if I am only writing about the past, but then I think: how can you write about anything else?,” McCartney wrote in a statement on his website. “We had almost nothing, but it didn’t matter because everyone was fantastic and we didn’t realize what we were missing.”
Upcoming Concerts
The announcement precedes two concerts in Los Angeles this weekend, the first since the “Got Back Tour” which lasted over three years and concluded last November.
