Once in a while, you're just looking for a really flavorful setting. Flipping through my collection, one of them jumped out at me. You'll never guess what it was. No, seriously, you'll never guess.

Day 11 - Flavour - Grim Tokens

What book in my collection has the most flavor? Whose cuisine reigns supreme?

Grim Tokens

I love it when I read something that triggers an understanding that had been eluding me. In this case, it's one of the failures of modern media mapping its way into TTRPGs. Obsessive validation.

Grim Tokens

I think a #Discworld #TTRPG needs:
* Dramatic systems that let the character’s personalities shine over their abilities
* Possibility for action and danger, but resolving it in a fast, dramatic way - no turn by turn fights
* Some kind of narrative meta-currency for players - failure when interesting and in service of the story, not random

I’m leaning towards a diceless system involving dramatic resources being gained and spent - perhaps a bit like #SpectresOfBrocken’s word bank. (3/3)

i wrote about #SpectresOfBrocken, a #BelongingOutsideBelonging based #ttrpg about being mech pilots meeting again on the battlefield after having gone to school together!! my feelings on it are uhhhh [wiggly hand motion]

Review: Spectres of Brocken - Gurll Talk

when advertising this game to my friends so i could get someone to play it with me, i, with nothing but affection, referred to it as “gundam: three houses.” you play in two phases: in the academy phase, you play students learning how to be mech pilots; after a timeskip, you play the conflict phase, […]
