In my mildly colourful past, I have worked with both USA government agencies and their armed forces as well as businesses. I have always found them highly professional (bar the odd ‘jerk’ but that is true the world over) and worthy of respect.

However I have never considered there to be a special relationship, more one of mutual benefit and trust of a limited kind. I believe this article sums up the current state of play.
