TaylorI've spent a long time now working on improving my #3DArt skills. I'm putting about an hour a day into #Blender #DigitalSculpting, and I've got hundreds of hours of practice under my belt now. But now, the modern showings in generative #AIArt can do better than my best effort in minutes what takes me at least a dozen hours. I still plan to keep on keeping on, but the whole thing is a bit deflating and dispiriting. Even as somebody who just wants to be good at art for my own pleasure, not a job, it is feeling a little like a waste of time, like the love of the craft is being sucked out of me.
This latest #Sparc3D thing is incredible. I am impressed, in awe, and I feel utterly worthless in comparison. I am kind of scared, and kind of wish that none of this existed. It feels like my dreams and hopes are being crushed, but not just mine, but literally millions of peoples' all at once, just so the laziest people can get shiny toys at the expense of the people who put the most work into improving themselves. I don't really know what to do about all that.
