Do you ever have those dreams where you remember knowledge that was only available to you from the dream world? Sometimes, when I wake up, I have a hard time figuring out how much was imagined, and how much was actually real.

I dreamt that I had played some kind of weird competitor to Star Citizen, where it was possible to warp to far-away galaxies, where there was barely any infrastructure in place to keep your ship operational. Even basic life support was a struggle.

The thing is, my brain is absolutely muddled with projects that tried to do their own "universe simulator featuring spaceships with walkable interiors" concepts, there's like half a dozen or so that I know of, and a lot of it is blended together in my brain now. Was it No Man's Sky? X4 Foundations? Elite Dangerous? Star Citizen? EVE? One of those other games that tried crowdfunding and failed?

My brain turns to slush trying to remember.

SNP Beagle-8 Tour - 14 Commanders from the Stellanebula Project reach Beagle Point with the new Type-8

When the first rumors about the new Type-8 from Lakon Spaceways began to solidify, and the company publicly confirmed they were working on the construction of a new medium-class ship, it was probably clear to everyone that a Lakon transporter suitable for M-pads would finally be available. This...

I watched Frontier's reveals of what Powerplay 2.0 was going to be like today. For the first time, as the player avatar walked through the station's concourse full of Aisling Duval's Imperial symbols & banners - Odyssey finally made sense to me.

FPS & on-foot planet mechanics leave me cold. But the visual & practical transformation of systems which culminate in the arrival of powerful (but destructible) faction fleet carriers is well worth looking forward to. #EliteDangerous #SpaceSims

Haven't played #EliteDangerous in a long while and it makes me very sad that the first big news item about the game since then is about a #Pay2Win controversy.

Just my personal opinion, Frontier Development should have pushed through with walkable ship interiors BEFORE introducing FPS mechanics through Odyssey.

Now it's too late 😞

Written by #IanBell and #DavidBraben while they were studying at the #UK's #UniversityOfCambridge, #Elite was launched with huge razzmatazz by #Acornsoft, was shipped with a superb user manual and even a novella to explain the universe. The original Elite ended up selling an estimated one million units. (That's chicken feed today, but in 1980s computing that was a huge number.) #RetroGaming #EliteDangerous #SpaceSims

Hola a todos. Ésta es mi primera publicación y #presentacion en Mastodon. Soy aficionado a los juegos de simulación en general. #simuladordevuelo #spacesims #farming #eurotruck etc. Un saludo a todos.
#Outpost2, one of the games I was writer on for #SierraOnLine back in the 90s, is again available for purchase through #Gog. It's a real time strategy game centered on building, expanding and defending a space colony against disasters, natural and man made. It was a challenging project. I learned a ton working on it, and I'm still pretty pleased with it. Check it out.
