Since I’m in full swing with playing 40k 3rd edition I feel it is time to put some paint on the minis.

For most armies I’ll go with „fuck what’s out there, I’ll do what I like“ but somehow that rubs me the wrong way when it comes to Space Marines as an army.

The initial plan was: paint each unit in the colour scheme they came with in the box.

• 3rd Edition Box Set – Black Templars
• Battle for Macragge – Ultramarines
• Indomitus – Ultramarines

I can live with Black Templars since I feel 10 Space Marines and a Landspeeder in black and white should look cool.

But two boxes of space smurfs? First of all, what is in these boxes:

Battle for Macragge

• 10 Space Marines
• 1 Imperial Pilot

Indomitus

• 1 Primaris Captain
• 1 Primaris Lieutenant
• 1 Primaris Chaplain
• 1 Judicar
• 3 Bladeguard Veterans
• 1 Bladeguard Ancient
• 3 Eradicators
• 10 Assault Intercessors
• 3 Primaris Outriders

The boys from the BfM set could be anything. But have I seen Primaris being painted anything else than baby blue? oO

Oh and of course there is the happy weird set of Space Wolfes that will be painted as Space Puppies.

But the rest? I don’t know. Rainbow Warriors is too much work. Is there any weird but simple colour scheme that comes to mind? Preferably one that is from 3rd edition or before? There must be something silly and easy out there.

Hit me with your ideas! please!

In der Mittagspause wurden bei mir heute schnell einige Dark Angels in unterschiedlichen Bemalstadien einheitlich gebased, um für heute Abend ready zu sein. 😋

Da sieht man mal wieder, wie extrem schon einfache Bases eine Truppe zu einer gemeinsamen Armee machen, selbst wenn sie noch nicht fertig bemalt sind 😁
