I start my Sunday mornings with the
#NPR show ‘Sunday Baroque’ on our
#ClassicalMusic station, then at noon… the ‘American Music’ show comes on and I bail to our other NPR service: Rhythm & News for the Sunday Jazz program. I do that because (possibly unpopular opinion follows) American classical music is a joke, a cross between movie scores and circus marches. Oh I know… what about Copeland, Ives, Bernstein and Glass? Don’t really like any of them TBH. But I do love the Baroque period. We’re lucky where I live in
#SouthernOregon as we have a local NPR station at SOSU with 3 services. Jefferson Public Radio covers the largest geographic service area of any nat’l NPR station, extending a couple hundred miles in each direction. You too can listen to a live stream at
