I live 2 miles from Union Pacific's South St Paul rail yard. I frequently hear the rumble of trains and their horns.
I wish there was a webcam overlooking the yard so I could watch as the trains come through.
I have thought about installing a camera but have no idea how I would power it or connect it to the internet. I'm too far away for wifi
Ideally, UP would share a webcam but I have not found one if they have done so.
I worked at removing some of the ice and snow from the public sidewalk this afternoon. My back hurts.
I didn't clear all of the snow or ice from edge to edge. I don't have the strength nor patience for that.
Nor do I have the machinery. A lot of ice and snow on the public sidewalk was deposited there by city and county snowplows clearing the street. My snowblower cannot clear heavy, icy snow crud.

@stpaultim We had about a dozen robins in our yard last week. They were making a ruckus in a flowering crabapple tree that still has fruit on it. They ignored me when I asked them why they were back in Minnesota when the temperatures were below freezing.
@nyc2msp It's a mess out there. The tree removal crew removing our dead ash trees had to call it quits after their bobcat skidder busted through the crust into muck.
January ain't like it used to be.
Today we received our packages that were to be delivered on Friday, Saturday, and Monday. USPS is short staffed so I am not upset at the workers but I'm frustrated.
The man who delivered the packages liked Lizzie and gave her lots of pets. She loved him and if she could have climbed into his truck with him she would have.

I cried so hard while reading The Seed Keeper by Diane Wilson. It is the impetus for my interest in the Dakota of Minnesota. The more I learn of their history at the hands of European Americans, the more I am saddened.

I was startled when I turned around to discover an elderly man standing in our yard, yelling to me. I couldn't hear him because I had ear protection on and the leaf blower is loud.
When I shut off the leaf blower and took off my ear protection, I heard hm saying “You don’t need to make it perfect!” as he gesticulated at our yard before storming off. I was flummoxed. I had left so many leaves in the yard I had no idea why he thought I was being a perfectionist.
