Just spotted this, right on my doorstep. Sunday 28 June for a trail half marathon (or 10k) taking in Mount Harry, Blackcap and Plumpton Ridge, with views down to Brighton and north over the Weald. Sounds fabulous and it actually runs most of my personal favourite half route backwards. #running #Brighton #SouthDowns
#FotoVorschlag: Gut abgeschnitten // Well cut off (literally), performs well (figuratively)

The #SevenSisters cliffs were well cut off by the #Atlantic and are also a cut above in terms of natural beauty. The only thing that's been cut short here is the photo quality (the photo is from 2013). Also, #SeaWednesday and all that.

South Downs Way Map and Information - National Trails

National Trails
As a #SouthDowns runner, I am keen on being able to describe my routes and views when I am #running to others, and that means that I occasionally focus on making sure that the landscape names are present in #OpenStreetMap. Today, my son and I went on a walk to investigate the supposed location of a trig point that isn’t at all obvious while walking the trails of the hill that it is on. Conversation turned to names of the landscape, including the meaning of ‘Wick Bottom,’ just south of our house.

The mist has not yet burned off in Woodingdean, so my run around the Snake was devoid of views, though my way was brightened by the gorse bushes, enthusiastic against the grey, blurred morning. I love gorse, as long as it doesn’t crowd the trail; it seems to bloom in spite of everything, never afraid to add gaiety while neighbours are still cowed by winter. A lovely 5km with 117m EG (woo!) #running #SouthDowns
