Finally got round to putting sticky grease and bands around the trunks of my cherry trees to keep the ants off. Now there are lots of very cross looking ants milling about above the band. They'll jump off eventually.

Picked the first three ripe cherries this morning and they are as delicious as ever. The older tree is the only real success in my gardening efforts.
