Im Interview spricht Werner Scheltjens ĂŒber seinen Weg zur Digital History, seine Forschung und Herausforderungen der DH. FĂŒr Werner Scheltjens ist Digital History ein Praxisfeld und eine Hilfswissenschaft an der Schnittstelle von Geistesâ, Sozialâ und Informatikwissenschaften, sie entwickelt neue Methoden fĂŒr alte und neue Quellen, reflektiert deren Auswirkungen und fördert Transparenz. Er betont die Notwendigkeit systematischer ZeitabschĂ€tzungen fĂŒr die QuellenerschlieĂung, unterbreitet konstruktive VorschlĂ€ge fĂŒr die Integration von Digital History in den Schulunterricht und reflektiert ĂŒber Praxen des historischen Arbeitens, die durch die DigitalitĂ€t Gefahr laufen verloren zu gehen. Als drei zentrale Herausforderungen der Digital History nennt er die Integration digitaler Methoden in die Lehre, den Umgang mit Unsicherheit probabilistischer Verfahren und die Förderung von Offenheit sowie einer konstruktiven Fehlerkultur.
