#SotsArt was indeed the correct criticism of Soviet propaganda by the 1980s. It was an overload of ideology. Like how #Popart is an overload of advertising. https://tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-modern/world-goes-pop/artist-biography/komar-and-melamid

Duke Digital Collections has some great photos in capturing the Cold War. Along with Soviet posters from 1917 till 1991, they also have some great dissident artists like Komar and Melamid.

Our museum was visited by a famous artist Alexander Melamid! He has a very diverse direction in the work! He painted portraits of the highest category of Hip-Hop artists: 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West and many others. He as well creates masterpieces of the characters from Soviet history, such as Joseph Stalin or Nikita Khrushchev. We were very pleased to help the artist get inspired in KGB Espionage Museum!
