🚨 owner of the #LATimes just invited the king of the crypto bros #MarcAndreessen, a man whose VC fund #a16z has backed innumerable scams in all shades of fraud (see: #Yotta and #Synapse most recently) in addition to companies that facilitate incredible amounts of Russian #moneylaundering to join the editorial board.

Is this you, @pmarca? Are you hedging your endorsements? But you’re not the only one who makes mistakes. I’ve made some—like endorsing Karen Bass. And that’s a big reason we didn’t endorse Kamala. I don’t have the luxury of a hedge. Now is the time for leadership, and I’ll

Washington Post Kills a Cartoon, Cartoonist Resigns, Good for Her

I’ve been impressed with the news coverage generated by cartoonist, #AnnTelnaes’ impactful resignation from her gig at the Washington Post

Her resignation and statement made her point loudly and effectively about the disturbing influence that billionaires, who are sympathetic to #Trump, like the WA Post’s Jeff #Bezos and LA Times’ Patrick #SoonShiong, have on media that we’ve traditionally been able to trust.

Perhaps one resignation is worth a thousand #Cartoons. Too bad you can only resign once 🤔

More cartoons at the link below, all good!

it doesn’t take a Pulitzer prize winning investigative reporting team to suss out why the LA Times owner is censoring content critical of the Trump administration - he wants a government position, to advance his private business interests

Who’s the billionaire doctor palling around with Donald Trump?

Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, a biotech billionaire with a penchant for bluster, dined with Donald Trump to discuss the future of medicine. Here's why he may have Trump's ear.

[T]he bromide of just being balanced is a terrible dereliction of journalists’ first defining responsibility of reporting the truth. Soon-Shiong apparently would have the Times deliver an on-the-one-hand, on-the-other-hand presentation to readers. But there is no “other hand.” Trump is an inveterate liar, and journalists have a defining responsibility to call that out."

Why I Just Resigned From The Los Angeles Times

Talking Feds Substack

"How is it possible that an indicted insurrectionist, adjudicated sex offender, and convicted felon could very possibly be elected president for the second time?

The news of this past week gives us a clue. Billionaire newspaper owners Jeff Bezos (Washington Post) and Patrick Soon-Shiong (LA Times) each killed an already-approved editorial board endorsement of Kamala Harris."
