[P] So, in the end, I'm much more interested in The Karters 2: Turbo Charged. I'll have to pick that up, soon. I did get to play it for a bit and I liked what I experienced of it. In CrossWorlds? I don't want a stat to tell me how much better I can drift than others. I don't feel good about having built-in systems that inhibit play for those who aren't addicted enough. I'm not sure The Karters 2 will top Tranformed, but it's the one I'm looking at now.

[P] I mean, don't get me wrong. I'm happy for anyone that likes CrissWorlds. I just loathe stats being the dominant way to play, the end result is far less like Transformed, and more akin to World of Warcraft. The "meta" wins races more than players do. It rewards those who've given themselves to the dopamine-grind over those who want to learn how to play the game better. It's just not the sort of game I want. It's a very, very modern game.

[P] The difference between an arcade and sim racer is only the physics, really. In an arcade racer, the values are set to be mkre fantastic and otherworldly. I dig that. This is what Transformed nailed but I've come to realise CrossWorlds doesn't. CrossWorlds has become more like Mario Kart: showmanship over craftsmanship. It's funny, as there's even an indie kart racwler out there now that I'm much more excited about than CrossWorlds. Shame, really.

[P] My main hope for CrossWorlds now is that some of its very good tracks get backported into Transformed in some way. I'd like that. I was worried about "progression" and "meta" in a skill-based racer from the outset. I get that it keeps the neurotypicals hooked via dopamine, but it leaves me cold and results in an objectively worse game—as far as I'm concerned. It feels too artificial, even in the physics. I just don't like stats > physics.
