‘The MoD spokesperson said: "I can confirm that there was no RAF Quick Reaction Alert today, which would have meant RAF Typhoons taking off from either RAF Lossiemouth or RAF Coningsby."
It is thought that the aircraft involved could have been from the #USAF, but the #MoD does not comment on the air activity of other nations.
At about 4.30pm there was a sudden loud bang, which made the kids and I jump out of our skin. We couldn’t tell where it had come from - but it sounded like a gun or explosion. I ran out into the street. Nothing.
I’ve just been told by partner who is still on FB that it was heard all over the postcode as it was a #sonicboom.
I’ve lived here in #Norwich on and off for over 25 yrs and never experienced this, despite the military airbases nearby.
Were they US fighter jets? Will we ever know?
