For context: That song is about the huge Hippie scene of San Francisco, where back in the 1960s lots of (young) people were dreaming of building a better future. The original version was released during the run of the very first #StarTrek show. (And making a cover version with this modern opera singer seems to be a nod to the Doctor.)
