I bought this to start off my sticker collection to add some whimsy to the back of my (hopelessly dingy) laptop.

I searched for some inspiration as to how to position it so that future stickers would have a good amount of space. But in the process, I accidentally doomscrolled into a Tenth Dentist thread where some guy was arguing that laptop stickers were ridiculous and childish.

As I kept looking at his increasingly unhinged responses, holding up as a sin similar to getting drunk at a funeral or wearing a t-shirt to a wedding, I got the unholy urge to smother all my mortal possessions in stickers, if only on the off chance this guy might see it and know misery.

And I remembered.

I HAD A STICKER

The sheer amount of TRIUMPH I felt when I put it on my laptop! Is the positioning perfect? No! Does it matter? Also no!

Apparently sfw Sonelise posts are getting marked as mature content on Tumblr...? I remember the folks on blorbo.social talking about some new way Tumblr management screwed up awhile back, and not paying it much mind. But now I'm trying to figure out what they were talking about, and if it might have anything to do with this.

I wonder if they replaced their moderation with bots or something, Pinterest-style? Or fans who hate the ship are reporting it and no human is reviewing it? Either way, not very promising... especially if it's the former. One large issue with Threads when they introduced federation was the lack of proper moderation, and if Tumblr is mostly using bots for moderation I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't another Fedipact-like call to block it once they move to Wordpress and enable federation. I honestly wouldn't blame the admins who did block it.

(This may seem like I'm reaching, like. What does flagging of this random furry x human ship have to do with the Fedi/Tumblr federation. But I am wondering if it could be a symptom of a larger issue given that others have noticed issues with Tumblr. I do this spiraling frequently. Often on a daily basis. You're getting a rare glimpse at my chaotic thought process.)

(Also I may not be the most reliable source on this, as I don't have a Tumblr account. I saw it in a post from a shipper I follow via RSS, and was reminded of other enshittification.)

Hearing about horror stories of harassment over the dumbest shipping arguments in the Voltron fandom while the staff apparently did nothing did a good job of turning me off of using Tumblr. Every time I see one of my apparently niche interests is popular on there, I briefly consider making an account, then see something like this, my decision of a hermit-like existence on Mastodon becomes even more solidified. The community-based moderation, the knowledge that a report will be seen and reviewed by an actual person has given me quite a bit of security here. Doubly so on a server as small as mine. In fact, I don't think I would even have a fandom-based social if it weren't for Mastodon. Not having any social would prolly do wonders for my fannish "productivity", but, eh.)

Have you ever come across an artwork that just randomly aligns with one of your headcanons?

Well...

I don't think Sonic would be much of a cuddler in general, but one of my oddly specific headcanons is that Sonic likes to lay next to Elise and just. Listen to her heartbeat.  

In 06, he lost her—as in, she actually died, so the idea of him trying to confirm that yes, she really is there, even if he doesn't fully realize what he's doing or why he's doing it, is so heartwarming to me.
