Although I already had the excellent MOV press of this, I knew I was gonna buy this. The second record of bonus material is fucking INCREDIBLE, and for somebody who loves this album like I do, it’s a treasure trove.

I adore Trace (and to only a slightly less extent Straightaways), and I listen to it NUMEROUS times a year every year.
Gun to my head, it’s my favorite “alt-country” album of all time. I’ve always preferred Son Volt to Wilco from the beginning, and FOR MY OWN PERSONAL TASTE, Trace is by far the best record either of the two bands made, and that includes Wilco’s Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.

Every song on here stirs something up in me, and even MY outfit has live takes on both “Route” and “Drown” when we need to stretch things out.

This isn’t as dynamic as the MOV, but worth it for the bonus stuff.
