Somerville news: the new mayor has fired the ED of the city's arts council, Greg Jenkins (who had been in the job for 25 years, and had helped build up the city's reputation as a hub for creativity and even for chefs through their Nibble program)

it will be very interesting to see what parents of kids at the Brown School think of the new Somerville mayor's plan to potentially fold the school into Winter Hill School.

Continuing this from October - I'm in Ward 5, so there's decisions to be made: I'm going for the immigrant union schoolteacher who's backed by longtime Alderman Niedergang and a bunch of labor groups over the guy who ran the departing Ward 5 councilor's campaign.

4 out of the 5 at large councilors are all we get to pick, and I am confident that former city councilor Will Mbah will do a good job. That means I'm still stuck voting out someone else, and unfortunately its Councilor Strezo struck from the list, despite her many excellent qualities.

rad, just got a #GOTV call from the Tewkesbury Tauro campaign. When I answered (I thought it was a contractor calling us back) I immediately got 6 seconds of hold music.

I was advised that I could call Mr. Tauro with any questions, and she gave me a phone number, providing the area code as 'six-seventeen' - which is a mindbreakingly wrong way to say that.

"Somerville Bicycle Safety asked the candidates for all contested seats about important issues for people riding bicycles."

If we had re-toots here, I would have boosted @noisecapella with the #SomervilleMA tag, on this candidate questionnaire. But you'll have to seek that original toot out yourself until we have that...

And I'm sure I still don't have the tags all correct. Feel free to retoot with those....
