My copy of #ShadowDark arrived! At first glance, it looks like it answers a lot of my issues I've had with other #osr games. And the book is gorgeous and layed out beautifully! Can't wait to roll up a character or two and see what happens!

I've spent a few more hours with #Knave2e. The game is OK. Generating stories and interesting places and adventures is a breeze due to the fantastic array of tables. The combat is simple and deadly, leading to lots of twists and turns. But the game falls apart for me when it comes to loot and xp. I downloaded a supplement that had an alternate system for treasure, but that still felt like too much work. Sure, I could just ignore all of that give myself xp how I see fit, but that's not what I want. And besides, none of my characters live long enough to level up in the first place.

My review from a solo player's perspective: Great book. Mediocre game.

I'm now 3 "episodes" into my Star Trek: Captain's Log game. It's been a bit of a slow start, much like every good Star Trek series. The first few episodes are a bit awkward until they get the characters established. I'm having that same experience in my crappy little series. But the characters are coming into focus. This definitely isn't the flagship for the federation, but they get the job done.

I haven't had a chance to finish making a character in Star Trek: Captain's Log, but I've started the process. The life path system is probably the coolest thing I've found in any of these solo rpgs. I know I'll have a fully rounded, interesting character to play around with when it's all done.

My copy of Star Trek: Captain's Log arrived. It looks like fun! I don't necessarily need another solo ttrpg to play, but I couldn't resist this particular game. Writing little captain's logs sounds like a perfect use of an afternoon or two.

I've been #SoloRoleplaying for about a year now. It's been an interesting journey, and has opened my eyes to a whole world of games I was scared to look at.

My most recent acquisition is Dragonbane. Up until now I've stuck with games that are built for solo play. I'm spending the evening rolling up a couple of characters. Of course one of them is going to be a Mallard. How could I pass that up?

I also got a copy of Mythic. It's constantly suggested, but it just feels like a lot when combined with systems that have a lot of rules. Dragonbane excites me, and the rules are far more user friendly than D&d. I thought about Pathfinder, but I like the d20 roll under mechanic. It makes more sense to me. Hopefully, this goes well and I have some interesting things running through my head soon!

Lost for any #paintingminis inspiration staring at this #reapermini Ape Demon for a few years now but took a break from career devt tonight and the scheme came to me as a bit of catharsis I didn’t know I needed for one of the first demonic hordes I struggled against early in my professional career. Now, just have to find a justification to destroy this guy in a #SoloRoleplaying adventure.
